Stone lanterns were first used in ancient Shinto shrines where they served as votive lights.
In the sixteenth century, Japanese tea masters included stone lanterns in
Buddhist tea gardens to light the way with their rustic beauty and rich light.

The stone is from low lying hills in Ilocos.
The same stones used in/restore the streets at Heritage Village in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
Surface chiseled by hand.
Stones are all natural, colors vary to either beige, blue/gray or combination of both.
Perfect for landscaping, tiles or walkways.
